Boeing CEO Ortberg Delivers Clear Message After Air India Crash: “We Stand With India With All Our Resources”

Following the crash of an Air India 787-8 Dreamliner shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg issued a public statement expressing direct support for Air India and the people of India.

Ortberg extended his condolences to the families of the passengers and crew who lost their lives in the accident, emphasizing Boeing’s close communication with Air India’s leadership and the company’s commitment to supporting the investigation:

“We extend our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the passengers and crew who lost their lives on Air India Flight 171. Our hearts are with India and everyone affected by this tragic event in Ahmedabad.”

The Boeing CEO also affirmed that the company will fully support the investigation being led by India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and is mobilizing all necessary resources:

“I spoke directly with Air India Chairman Mr. N. Chandrasekaran and offered our full support.
